COLMI P73 vs P76 vs P78: Which Smartwatch Should You Buy?
Three COLMI smartwatches sit next to each other in our Smartwatch category, separated by 850 taka in total. On a spec sheet they look almost identical: same brand, similar screen size, all of them take calls. They are not the same watch, and the differences are not the ones the price order suggests.
This guide compares the COLMI P73, P76 and P78 using their actual published specifications, and adds the QCY Active GT 3 at the end for anyone whose budget stretches further. Every figure below comes from the manufacturer’s spec sheet for that model.
The short answer
- Buy the P78 if the screen matters to you. It is the only one of the three with an AMOLED panel, and it has roughly three times the pixels of the other two.
- Buy the P76 if battery life matters most. Its 430mAh cell is the largest here by a clear margin.
- Buy the P73 if you want the lowest price and the best water protection. It is the cheapest and, oddly, the only one rated IP68.

The screen is the real difference
The P73 and P76 both use IPS panels at roughly 240 × 283 pixels. Spread across a screen just under two inches, that works out to about 196 pixels per inch. It is perfectly readable — it is simply not sharp, and you will notice it on curved text and on watch faces with fine detail.
The P78 puts 410 × 502 pixels into almost exactly the same 1.952-inch area. That is three times as many pixels — 205,820 against 68,160 — for about 332 pixels per inch. Combine that with AMOLED, where black pixels are genuinely switched off rather than backlit grey, and the difference is obvious the moment the two sit side by side, particularly on a dark watch face at night.
If you are buying a watch mainly to glance at notifications, this is where your extra 850 taka goes, and it is the upgrade you will actually notice every day.
Battery: the P76 wins, and not narrowly
430mAh against 340mAh and 300mAh is a 43% advantage over the P73. AMOLED partly closes that gap in real use — a mostly-black watch face draws less power than a backlit IPS panel showing the same thing — but on paper the P76 has the most capacity to work with. It is the pick if your habit is charging once a week rather than every second night.
Water resistance: read this before you assume
This is the one that surprises people. The cheapest watch here has the best rating.
- IP68 (P73) — protected against continuous immersion, to a depth the manufacturer specifies.
- 3ATM (P76) — withstands pressure equivalent to 30 metres of static depth. In practice that means splashes, rain and handwashing; it is not a swimming rating.
- IP67 (P78) — immersion to one metre for up to 30 minutes.
None of these three is a swimming watch. If you want to swim in it, look at the QCY Active GT 3 below. And whichever you buy, take it off before a hot shower — steam gets past seals that cold water never would.
The app is not the same watch to watch
The P73 pairs through Pubu Wear. The P76 pairs through Da Fit. If you already own a COLMI watch and are buying a second for someone in the family, you may end up with two apps on your phone. Worth knowing before you order, not after.
So which one?
You are buying your first smartwatch and want to spend as little as possible. Take the COLMI P73 at 1,700৳. It calls, it tracks, it survives rain, and if you decide the category is not for you, you have risked very little.
You forget to charge things. Take the COLMI P76 at 1,950৳. The 430mAh battery is the largest of the three and the 250 taka over the P73 buys you real endurance.
You will look at this watch fifty times a day. Take the COLMI P78 at 2,550৳. The AMOLED screen is the single biggest quality-of-life difference in this comparison, and the LED flashlight is more useful than it sounds during load shedding.
What if you can spend more?
The QCY Active GT 3 at 4,150৳ is a different class. Its 1.43-inch AMOLED runs 466 × 466 — a smaller screen than the COLMIs, but the sharpest of any watch we sell. It carries 120+ sports modes and a 3ATM rating, which makes it the one option here you can genuinely take into a pool.
It costs almost two and a half times the P73. Whether that is worth it depends on one question: are you tracking swimming? If yes, it is the only answer. If no, the P78 gets you most of the screen quality for a thousand taka less.
Before you order from anyone
COLMI and QCY are among the most counterfeited wearable brands sold through Facebook pages in Bangladesh. Two habits protect you:
- Check the model number against the spec. A listing claiming a P78 with a 240-pixel screen is not a P78. The resolution is the easiest tell.
- Ask what happens if it arrives dead. A seller who cannot answer that in one sentence is telling you something.
